Widget download 01a
The Clearskys.net Availability calendar widget provides an alternate and stylish method of displaying your bookings.

It is a display only calendar and thus is dependent on the Availability and Booking manager plugin to provide the administration and management functionality.

The widget can be styled independently of the Availability and Booking manager plugin calendar.

Installation / Upgrade
If you already have the Availability and Booking manager plugin (version 0.4.a and above) installed on your system, then you only need to download the Widget zip file. This can be done by clicking on the Widget only download link on the right hand side of this page.

If you don’t have the Availability and Booking manager plugin already, or you would prefer to upload everything required in one go, then first go here and click on the Download link on the right hand side of the page.

Once you have downloaded and unziped the file, you need to FTP the clearskys directory to the wp-content/plugins directory of your Wordpress installation. Once you have completed this step you will have a wp-content/plugins/clearskys directory on your server with all the files contained within it.

Finally navigate to the plugins menu in your Wordpress administration system and Activate the plugins labelled “Clearskys.net Booking manager” and “Clearskys.net Availability calendar widget”.

Instructions for setting up and using the Clearskys.net Booking manager can be found here.
Instructions for the use of the Availability Calendar widget can be found below:

Widget Options

Once installed and activated, the Availability calendar widget can be added to any Widget enabled theme in the following way:

  • Navigate to the Presentation menu in your Wordpress admin and click on the “Sidebar Widgets” option. You will see a widget labelled “Availability Calendar” in the available widgets list.
  • Drag the Availability Widget to the relevant Sidebar

Clicking on the Options button will display the following form:
Widget Options

The widget uses a combination of these options and the options for the Booking manager to produce it’s calendars. The options on the Widget page are specific to the output and display of the Widget calendar, options such as Language, start of week, feed urls setups, etc.. are all pulled from the Booking manager plugin to ensure consistency between the two systems.

  • Title - Sets the title you want displayed on top of your calendar
  • Show calendar for - This mirrors the functionality of the tags here, but basically the options are:
    • Property number - entering a number will specify the property number you wish to display the calendar for. The default is 1.
    • Query Attribute - If your website URI’s are query string based and you want to pass the property number via your URI, then enter the query string item you want to use: e.g. if I want to pass ?property=3 to display a calendar for property 3 then I would select this option and enter property here.
    • URI permalink - If your website uses directory type permalinks, then enter the URI segment you want to use here. See the link above for more details on calculating the URI segment number.
  • Number of months - Simple one, specifies the number of months you want to display. Defaults to 6.
  • Show feeds - Gives you the option of adding RSS and iCal feed links to the bottom of your calendar (and the option of standard of pop up links). See here for more details on using feeds.
  • Calendar style - Allows you to enter the style sheet code for the widget calendar. For more details on the markup generated by the Availability widget see the Sample calendar page.
