Would a Forum be useful?

I’m working on a large re-design of this blog, to fit in with the rather large re-design on the main clearskys.net website (common look and feel and all that jargon).

As part of that, I have been contemplating adding a forum to the site for support, requests, etc…, but have held off for the time being as the number of support requests I am getting is relatively low (and no one likes a deserted forum).

As a platform, I’ve been looking at Vanilla, as it seems very simple and light-weight.

I welcome any other suggestions and advice as to whether I should go forward with this, or as to alternative platforms to look at.

Booking Manager and Availability Calendar plugin v1.0

Version 1.0 of the Booking manager and Availability calendar plugin can now be downloaded by clicking on the download link on the right hand side of this post, or by clicking here.

This new version has been completely redesigned to bring it in line with the interface of our other plugins I will be updating the page linked to above to reflect the changes in interface, so apologies if what you see on your screen doesn’t match the screenshots.

Booking and availability calendar tutorial

I’ve put together a quick tutorial showing the basic layout and use of the new interface for the Booking and availability calendar v1.0, as it differs quite a bit from the pre 1.0 versions.

It is linked below on this post, though I’m not too happy with the quality of the Google version, it does give you a rough idea.

I’ve also got 800×600 resolution Flash and Quicktime versions if anyone would like a copy.

Though I may upload the flash version sometime this week anyway.

Booking and availability calendar version 1.0 due soon

Well, we still don’t have our ADSL connection in yet (that’s a whole other story and post), but I’ve held off releasing version 1.0 of the Booking management and Availability calendar plugin and the Availability calendar Widget for too long.

I have a couple of extra tweaks and tests to get through, but they will both be available very very soon (fingers crossed on Friday).

Version 1.0 features a complete redesign of the administration pages to make it easier to view and find bookings.

Calendar Widget

As well as adding the ability to have multiple calendar widgets on a single page, I’ve also added the marking of changeover days.
