Wow! This is exactly the plugin I have been looking for!
Unfortunately I cannot get it to work properly… I have added the calendar to the following page: http://algarve-apartment.eu/availability/
The problem is that it does not show the test booking I made (21-28 december).
I have used this tag:
Any ideas on how I can fix this?

Aha, a vital part missed off my instructions. Sorry - my fault.
The plugin by default does not style the tables, as I didn’t want to enforce any style on peoples sites.
Add a style to your stylesheet (or include in the page content) along the lines of:
td.booked { background: #FF0000; }
or, in the options, change the “Booked Date” setting from class=”booked” to style=”background: #FF0000;”
(The first option is probably best).
Your bookings should then show up as Red squares.
I will add more details on this to the instructions in a short while.

I might be being a bit of a fool here.
I am able to insert the calender into my wp site. But is it possible for users to book a slot using the site.
If so how? Any help would be much appreciated

The booking manager and availability plugin is designed to display the calendar and let you (and your staff) administer the bookings.
The enquiry and contact plugin will allow users to “book” a slot in the calendar.

This is similar to somthing we are developing. take a look at http://www.localglobalmarket.com to get a sneak veiw of the front end engine. Similar to WP except it is custom designed ground up for property rental. BTW its going to be free!

Many thanks for the link. I can’t quite get the grasp of the scope of your site? Is it a management system for a single website that is fully controlled by the property owner/agent or more akin to a property portal where the details and calendar are all centrally managed? If the former, then please get in touch and we could discuss what open standards you will be using and possbily a two way API.
If the later, then I’m afraid that is the exact opposite of how I envisage the development of our system to work. The idea is that every owner/agent can have a distinct completely self controlled site. Which, through the adaption of standards and API’s can communicate with other sites and central portals to update information.
The aim is to make the portal the distributer of property and availability information, not the owner. Why should I link to my availability calendar on someone elses site, when I can have my own (which updates the other site anyway).
March 8th, 2007 at 3:31 pm
No, its exaclty as you say. The booking app available for free download, installs on the clients webspace (its a full management suite as well) it then keeps our central portal up to date every time a change is made to the booking calendar plus allot more. As soon as its ready i will let you know.

Excellent, look forward to seeing it.
If you have an open API for updating the main site, I would love to have a chat. I’ll send you an email seperately.

Barry, how are you making the availability data available to your portal?
March 12th, 2007 at 4:51 pm
Snowsh: at the moment we aren’t…
There will be two approaches, the first using our API, which will pass full booking details across, the second is to use the iCal feed from the calendar plugins to pass information across.
This is really my next big task, as a couple of other things I am working on are about to reach the stage where integration becomes needed.
